5 steps to living your BEST life

We’re halfway through March…when did that happen? & YES there are things we wanted to cross off the 2022 list that we just…well, haven’t come close to touching yet. And if I’m honest (for both you & me) it’s because we haven’t had the time, the energy, or the plan to GET👏🏻IT👏🏻DONE👏🏻

And GIRL though I’m a firm believer in working hard for the dream, let me tell you WHY I believe taking some time to take your time is the most transformative move, setting you up for success throughout the rest of 2022 & BEYOND!

5 Steps to Live Your Best Life Throughout the Remainder of 2022 & BEYOND!

1. Don’t just do it to do it.

Stop rushing through items this week *just* to cross them off your list and say they are complete. Let’s be honest. Are you really giving it your best effort if it’s rushed? And WHY are you rushing it in the first place. If it is something that’s not time sensitive, I challenge you to WAIT and focus.

2. Dream about what’s next.

GIRL we are SO distracted. YES by media, but also by the details of our work and life too. In fact, we’re often so deep in the details that we don’t have the time or energy to dream & plan what’s next! THIS is where I really believe YOU & I have an opportunity to transform the year ahead.

I want to challenge you, even if it’s for 15 minutes, take time this week to sit, walk, or drive in silence and REALLY dream. Let your mind be creative and wonder. THINK BIG here, don’t think about your daily to dos. And then…

3. Write it down

Take a step back and Braindump EVERYTHING you thought about in silence. It doesn’t have to be pretty, simply get it on paper.

4. Organize It

After it’s written down, reflect on it and organize it into your days. GIRL I know your schedule is already full. But even if you need to break it down into the *smallest* steps (that’s what I personally do and recommend it) add it to your schedule. If it’s what you REALLY dream it’s worth one extra small step each day right? So map it in to your 2022 & MAKE THE PLAN before…

5. Tying up loose ends.

Tie up loose ends this week that set up that plan for success in the days & weeks to follow. We all have THAT box or two consistently moving to the bottom of our to-do list and GIRL it’s time to FINALLY cross it off! Free your mind of the little things clouding it. The pattern of pushing it back again and again is ultimately stealing your creativity, plus it feels AMAZING to officially check that box!

GIRL I know it may sound simple or maybe it feels like a lot to add to your already busy day. But I promise taking this time for YOU will set you up for so much more growth throughout the rest of 2022 and beyond!

Thoughts from a Senior in College… What’s Next?

I’m a senior in college and like every other senior in the world, I get this question at least once a week: What do you want to do after you graduate? I get it from my family members, peers, bosses, and everyone in between. I wish that I had a good answer for them, but all I do is shrug and say, “I don’t know yet.”

Lingerie for Curvy Bodies & Every Body

Ah, February…

It’s officially the month of LOVE & I LOVE IT!

And I know, that has the potential to be unpopular opinion. But WHY?

My theory is that, GIRL whether we like it or not, we allow the month of love (and heck, every other month of the year) to revolve around someone else and the validation we get from someone else choosing us.

But what about US? What about YOU?

What if you loved you & chose you regardless of celebrating the month of love solo or with a partner? What if you loved you and chose you EVERYDAY? After all, isn’t that what love is all about anyway?

Here at Ditch the Clique, we believe we can’t be good for ANYONE if we’re not good for ourselves first. And GIRL we want that same love for you too! So to inspire you to love you more this Valentine’s Day season and B E Y O N D, we’re sharing a few of our favorite confidence boosting brands who empower us to love the skin we’re in E V E R Y D A Y!

The Comparison Trap

Recently I went to a concert with my friends (Jonas Brothers for the win!) As the sun went down, the air grew crisp and the sky cleared — it was the PERFECT night for a concert. We made our way to our seats, passing group after group of young women laughing and taking pictures, excitement in the air. If you’ve ever been to a concert, then you know some people go all out. Crop tops, everywhere you look.

I should have been swept up in the excitement, but instead, a part of my brain kept locking onto every woman I passed and thinking: I wish I looked as good as she does. Once I started, I couldn’t stop: in line for the bathroom, waiting to get drinks, even when we finally made it to our seats. I continued comparing myself to those around me to see how I measured up. Whose outfit was cuter? Who looked prettier? I told myself it was for “outfit inspiration” (good try, April) but we all know that’s not completely true. I tumbled down a hole of comparison.
