5 Steps to Creating an Inspiration Board

It’s no secret we’re all feeling a bit unmotivated lately. I don’t know about you but I typically find inspiration in my circle of empowered women and my surroundings (bless you, New York City). But because my surroundings haven’t changed in WEEKS…well…let’s just say I’ve been forced to find inspiration elsewhere.

And you know, I’ve decided that’s not necessarily a bad thing…

In fact, since being FORCED to find inspiration in other ways, I’ve arguably been more creative than EVER before! WILD, right?

I know you’re likely in need of creative ways to find inspiration too, so I’m excited to share one of my MANY methods with you! (I used and loved this method PRE quarantine, but have found it to be an absolute game changer since quarantine started, too!)

Ditch the Clique ONLINE

In my most recent email newsletter I shared how I’m spending my quarantine time. Yes I’ve rearranged my office, caught up on my favorite reality TV shows, and dressed up for NO REASON, but this extra time at home REALLY has me doing A LOT of thinking. Particularly I’ve been thinking about what motivates us as women.  Sure, I’ve thought about this before, but now more than EVER I truly recognize the importance of connection. GIRL I don’t know about YOU, but I know I am much more inspired and empowered to be the best me (AND go after my dreams) when I’m surrounded by other empowered, inspired, and motivated women!

Dressing Up to Stay In During COVID-19 Quarantine

If you’ve been a part of this community for sometime, you know even when we’re not in COVID-19 quarantine I work for myself from home on the daily. And most of the time, I LOVE it! Though I’m an extrovert, I find I am more productive and less distracted working on my own. I know if the work is not finished or to my standard, it is the fault of only ONE person….

But as much as I enjoy working on my own, I typically pack my weeks with meetings, lunches, and brainstorm sessions OUTSIDE of my home office with people who empower me and creatively inspire my work! I truly look forward to these in-person interactions, treating them as an opportunity to connect, share, and support businesses, friends, and my community!

Though interfacing with friends and brands is HUGE for me, it’s not the ONLY reason I look forward to leaving the house…

Ahhh, the “work from home” (WFH) life . It’s every woman’s dream, right?

well…

I know it sounds like a dream come true but as someone who has worked from home for herself for over a year, I’ll let you in on a secret. It CAN be a dream…but it CAN also be lonely, and distracting.

When I chat about my work, I often hear “you seem extremely self motivating” and am frequently asked “how do you stay motivated while working from home?” And let me tell you- I have my tough times too! BUT over the past year, I’ve developed a few tricks to staying engaged, inspired, and SANE while working from home!
