5 Tips for Staying Motivated During a Mental Health Crisis

5 Tips for Staying Motivated During a Mental Health Crisis

by April Hooper

My hands are shaking.

Maybe it’s the nerves and anxiety coursing through me (or maybe it’s just the coffee). Either way, when I’m feeling anxious or sad and my mental health is NOT at its best, getting work done is almost impossible. My creativity plummets, and my motivation hides like a good find at a thrift store. I take ANY opportunity to distract myself with Netflix or social media (TikTok is my weakness).

Somedays, having low productivity is okay; we ALL deserve a break every now and then. But other days, we need a little spark of inspiration, a push in the right direction. If that’s how you’re feeling, then you’ve come to the right place…

My first tip to combat the motivation void is this:

What’s Wrong With Being (Body) Confident?

What’s Wrong With Being (Body) Confident?

by: April Hooper

Ditch the Clique is ALL about confidence. And for women, BODY confidence is everything! Whether at events or on our social platforms, here at Ditch the Clique we work to remind every woman that her size and appearance have not hold over living the life she dreams!

Our SheEO Rachel K. Grim is fearless and honest with this message. Even as things change, she doesn’t let that stop her from being confident in her own skin! In this way (and SO MANY others) Rachel empowers the Ditch the Clique COMMUNITY and ALL the women around her to live confidently! And GIRL, The BodCon thinks so, too! To recognize body confident women and small businesses like Ditch the Clique, the BodCon created the Impact Grant. This grant allows one impactful person to further build their brand while spreading body confidence and self love to even more people! Because of Rachel’s dedication to inspiring women of all ages, races, sizes, and careers, Ditch the Clique is one of the six finalists shortlisted to win alongside the other nominees who also do great work in creating safe communities that breaking stereotypes.

How we celebrate Galentine’s Day….

How we celebrate Galentine’s Day….

It’s February! And let’s be real…you likely either love or hate the “month of love”.

To be honest with you, over the years I’ve spent a lot of time digging deep into this one. Because as someone who struggles around the Christmas holiday season, I find it important to empathize with and support those who see holiday months as a challenge rather than a celebration. And through my “research” I’ve found one MAJOR commonality which leads me to ask…

Do those who dislike the month of love struggle to like themselves?

OKAY I know that sounds harsh, but before you stop reading PLEASE hear me out!

Think about it…a lot of people who dislike February struggle because of feeling incomplete or less than on Valentine’s Day. They battle feelings of loneliness and begin to believe the lie that they don’t measure up and are unworthy of love. And in return of feeling unloved, they fall of out love with themselves. And where love doesn’t live…hate does. But GIRL whether you love or hate February (and for whatever reason you love or hate it), I’m here to remind you:

YOU ARE COMPLETE.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
YOU DO MEASURE UP.
YOU ARE WORTHY.

YOU. ARE. LOVED.

And GIRL, YOU deserve to love YOU!

To give you the resources YOU need to celebrate YOU, Ditch the Clique is hosting a FREE virtual Galentine’s Day event in partnership with Figleaves this Saturday February 13th at 11am EST! And to give you a glimpse into the body positive, connective conversation we’ll be having at Saturday’s event, we teamed up with Figleaves to create a photo shoot overflowing with selflove and REAL bodies!

GIRL if YOU are ready to celebrate YOU and YOUR body with a community of inspiring and empowering women this Galetine’s Day, RSVP to our FREE virtual event HERE! You’ll leave with resources empowering you to love the skin you’re in AND with an exclusive Galentine Goodie Bag too! I promise, you will never regret celebrating YOU!

OH & sending a special thank you to our friends at Figleaves for sponsoring this event and photoshoot! I and ALL the ladies at Ditch the Clique always feel our most confident in our favorite Figleaves items! There’s just something about wearing a bra that’s for EVERYBODY!

And GIRL, if you want MORE of THIS (this being a community of women inspiring and empowering you RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE while you go after your DREAM life), join Ditch the Clique COMMUNITY today!
