It’s okay to do things for YOU (and be alone)

It’s okay to do things for YOU (and be alone)

At the kick-off of February, I shared with you that though the “month of love” is the PERFECT time to celebrate the loves of your life, it’s also the BEST time to rekindle your love for YOU!

But what about when the month revolving around love comes to an end?

While I was recently speaking at a women’s event, I discussed the power of celebrating ourselves. But throughout this conversation a few ladies interjected they are often shamed for feeling TOO good about themselves.

…it’s almost as if society (and unfortunately other women) build us up yet wrong us when we are confident in who we are.

And let me tell you what we collectively decided…

3 Ways to Add Color Into Your Wardrobe

3 Ways to Add Color Into Your Wardrobe

If you’ve followed along here for a few years (THANK YOU) you may remember a time when I wore EXCLUSIVELY black.

DAMN. Was that a sad time…and not just because I only wore ONE color but for my reasoning behind it. Though at the time I would have claimed to dress in all black because it was “trendy“, I REALLY only wore black because I was hiding my emotions and destructive thoughts behind that color and under those clothes. Though I had ALWAYS sought to stand out, I wanted to blend in. Because…

How to attend NYFW with under 5k followers

Be honest…

Have you ever had a dream (a REALLY BIG dream), but zero idea how to make it a reality?

Yeah girl, I get that. In fact, that was me with NYFW.

As a young fashionista, I grew up dreaming of attending NYFW. Between magazines and media coverage, I would obsess over the designers AND the women attending shows. So naturally, as I got older, I did everything I could to figure out how these women attended NYFW. I googled and researched like CRAZY but still felt clueless.

Eventually my years of obsessively researching and networking in the industry taught me the true purpose of NYFW and exactly who it’s for…

3 Steps to Setting (and Achieving) Goals in 2020

3 Steps to Setting (and Achieving) Goals in 2020

How writing out your dreams into an actionable plan leads to success…

Okay, I know it sounds too easy and very cheesy but when you set goals, write them down, and REALLY plan them out, dreams DO come true!

Let me explain…

It’s 2020! And on New Year’s Day I spent my time reviewing the goals I had set for myself in 2019. WOW, was that ever a rewarding experience! At the start of 2019 I FINALLY applied the advice of SO many successful women; I wrote down my goals. This list of goals spent the entire year prominently displayed on the front of my planner, reminding me of my purpose DAILY. If I’m REALLY honest, this small action truly defined the trajectory of 2019 and led to so much success!

2 quick tips to dressing for the holidays (without wearing red & green)

2 quick tips to dressing for the holidays (without wearing red & green)

By now you probably know my feelings about the holidays (and if you don’t, check out my Christmas blog or IGTV video here).

But just in case you’re all together new here, let me catch you up…

Let’s just say I’m not one to begin celebrating in October or to wear head-to-toe red and green to a holiday event. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not so much a Grinch as I am a woman celebrating the holidays in her own unique way. For me, that means creating new traditions and sharing memorable moments rather than falling into holiday induced anxiety, debt, and disappointment. Because to be honest, it allows me (and everyone around me) to actually enjoy the holiday!

screw “normal” & go your own way

screw “normal” & go your own way

If you follow along with me on Instagram (and if you don’t, you should), you’ve likely noticed I’ve traveled from the city home to Pennsylvania a lot recently. I LOVE visiting home BUT there is just something about NYC that makes me feel even MORE at home. It feels like I truly FIT in New York and I love that about this place!
