How I’m feeling after one year of marriage…

And just like that, I’m celebrating my first wedding anniversary…WILD! It honestly feels like just yesterday my best friend and I were being married by my dad at an intimate Central Park ceremony surrounded by 25 of our closest family and friends. And as much as I’ve always hated when women say “my wedding was the best day of my life” it really, truly was.

But as mentioned in my post 8 Years Later I (FINALLY) Married My Best Friend (but it wasn’t always easy), it REALLY isn’t always easy. We’ve had our moments and guess what? We still do! We’ve never been ones to do things traditionally— we told almost no one about the wedding, and at times felt as though people and finances were against us. Hell, just months before the wedding we felt “against” each other as we sorted through “are you really my one and only, forever?” And I know…that’s hard to read (and I promise, even harder to write) but I say it because 1. Recently while listening to one of my favorite podcasts, The Skinny Confidential Him & Her, I noticed the phrase “launch & adjust” was on repeat. But not only there, the phrase has seemingly haunted me in conversations and other media content I consume, since!

My dad (the most wise person I know) always says “if words are on repeat, LISTEN! There’s a message there…”  So of course, I’ve put his advice to practice.  And (as usual) he’s right…

Keeping Cool in Summer Dresses

Dresses for Summer? …GROUNDBREAKING!

First off- if you get that reference, THANK YOU! But as much as it makes me laugh, it’s true! Now that NYC is in phase 4 of COVID recovery, I’m spending more time outside and realizing quickly how few lightweight and airy items I have for summer! Don’t get me wrong, I’m stocked with tanks, tees, and summer sets but it would be much easier (and cooler) to not wear pants! Ladies, I KNOW you get me!!! Sometimes shorts simply do not cut it. We need breezy, loose fitting items for those SUPER hot days and summer dresses are it!
