It’s FINALLY SUMMER and with summer comes one very important wardrobe mission-to curate outfits that are cute and exude confidence all while remaining cool in this crazy heat! Let’s be honest, one poorly planned outfit can mean makeup melting off your face amidst thigh chaffing, and girrrrl no one needs THAT!

As I shared in my May Monthly Style Roundup, summer sets and jumpers are ALWAYS a summer go-to of mine, but recently I’ve enjoyed wearing a new piece that is just as trendy and airy as my favorites…WIDE LEG PANTS

Wide Leg Pants

An alternative to another day of wearing uncomfortable shorts, wide leg pants are a breezy, trendy, and comfy outfit option for summer days. ESPECIALLY in light weight materials like linen and chiffon, wide leg pants make for a (literally) cool statement bottom. Typically in bold prints and colors, wide leg pants add a bit of playful sophistication to a basic tank top or T-shirt (even though they feel like wearing pajama bottoms!). Wide leg pants like this leopard print pair from Urban Outfitters are perfect for both a shorter, curvy figure like mine AND a tall, more straight through body style. Many women my height (5’1) with my curvy body type shy away from wide leg pants, feeling drowned in too much material. But the opposite actually happens as the wide leg pant sinches the waist and lengthens shorter builds (especially when paired with a platform sandal or block heel). But flowing wide leg pants also follow the shape of longer legs and hit the floor just perfectly when styled with a flat strappy sandal. Paired with a cropped or shorter top and a confident attitude—wide leg pants are truly a bottom for EVERY body type.
