No Mom, You CAN Wear White After Labor Day!

Calling Millennial women!!! Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally victimized by your mother stating “NO! No one wears white after Labor Day”. Well if this is you (and I am fairly confident it is) I have great news…mom lied!

Okay, she didn’t lie BUT one thing is for sure-times have changed since mom was first told this rule, which according to Marie Claire dates back to a fall fashion war between old New York City money versus middle class in the late 19th century. And although select brands today may establish themselves as elitist using the finest materials and higher price points, the great news is fashion is no longer a game of who has more money. Fashion is simply about what you feel your best in and look your best in that happens to be on trend, too!

Though as the seasons change darker tones ultimately rule our fall wardrobe, wearing fall and winter white is a thing AND has been embraced by the highest end brands! I will admit it can be scary if you’re not accustomed to this concept. For the longest time I could not wear white…ever! Regardless of the season, I had ingrained in my mind my complexion is too fair to wear white. But damn was I wrong!!! Though on a typical New York day you will find me wearing black or a darker tone, I have curated quite the collection of white pieces for this fall season.
