Five easy & FREE things you can do TODAY to be more positive in times of uncertainty.
It’s no secret times are tough. And to make matters worse, we all know it! In fact, it’s all EVERYONE is talking about!
Concerning conversations are FLOODING our LIVES, and it’s easy to let it get the best of us. And GIRL, I don’t know about you but this influx of negative energy has led me to wonder how we will ever recover from, much less SURVIVE this trial?
Sadly, I don’t have an answer to solve what our world is facing right now, but I do have a solution to help YOU stay positive when everything around you seems to be falling apart.

1. Treat your body well.
I know that when I treat my body well, it treats me well in return. So here’s my hot tip! Whether you’re stocking your fridge or ordering takeout, elect for healthy options that make you and your body feel the best! I know, it’s much easier to inhale a pizza as opposed to a balanced lunch, but your body will thank you for making the healthier choice! (But don’t worry, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with treating yourself now and then, too!)
And while we’re on the topic of our bodies, let’s talk about what else our bodies love…MOVEMENT! When I need to clear my head, a trip to the gym ALWAYS helps me reset. But if you’re like me, the gym may not currently be an option for you. But don’t let that stop you! Try an at home workout or even take a walk around your neighborhood (keeping distance in mind, of course!) Many exercise communities are offering complimentary online classes during this trying time, so there’s no stopping you from getting your body moving!
Remember! Your body is the ONE thing you have complete control over!
2. Read something ENCOURAGING
In troubled times, it’s easy to scroll through endless earth-shaking headlines. But GIRL! You MUST stop getting caught up in that! The information you consume is directly related to how you feel! So put your phone down and turn off the TV. Take some time to read a book OR hope-offering words because actively filling your mind with encouraging words helps you see things more positively! My Instagram saves and Pinterest page are FULL of inspiring words for the good and not-so-great times. I also love books like Rising Strong by Brene Brown, You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero, and the Bible.
There’s nothing like an encouraging word to get you through the day!

3. Take conversation offline
In times of chaos and isolation, it’s easy to feel alone. And guess what? YOU’RE NOT THE ONLY ONE FEELING ALONE! Regardless of your astrological sign or if you’re an introvert or extrovert, you/I/WE need positive interaction and inspiring conversation NOW more than EVER! So do yourself a favor and take a few moments out of your day for friends or family. Maybe that looks like calling your relatives, making dinner for a friend or roommate, or enjoying coffee with a coworker. Physically speaking to and spending time with someone you care about will INSTANTLY lift your spirits!
4. DANCE
It’s as easy as that! Turn up the volume to your favorite song and DANCE LIKE NO ONE’S WATCHING (because no one is!) I promise, the music and movement will do your body and mind a world of good!
5. Make the choice
Ultimately being positive in troubled times is a CHOICE that is up to YOU! It’s absolutely okay to have your moments, but choosing to be a light and look on the bright side keeps negativity from ruling you! I recognize it’s not always the easiest, but I choose to be positive not only for me, but to encourage those around me, too! Wouldn’t you LOVE to be the source of positivity for the ones you love when they need it the most?
