One of the fabulous Ditch the Clique COMMUNITY members recently said to me during our weekly one on one goal-getting chat…
“I feel like I’m in the queue.”
When I asked her to explain, she expressed that she is FINALLY on the brink to reaching her long term goal, and explained that almost suddenly she’s noticing the hard work she’s been doing for HER is paying off.
But to be sure we were truly on the same page, I asked “so you’re telling me you’re in the queue just waiting for your number to be called?” …
And we both smiled knowing that’s exactly where she….where WE are at!
Honestly, this conversation REALLY impacted me! So much so that I’ve been thinking about it and quoting it on repeat! And maybe that’s because the metaphor is PROFOUND? But GIRL, I’m convinced it’s because I’m in the queue too! And when I really think about it…Aren’t we ALL? Aren’t we ALL waiting for our number to be called? Aren’t we ALL waiting to turn the corner? Aren’t we ALL waiting for the other shoe to drop?
With everything our country and WORLD is currently facing, it can be discouraging to feel like you’re ALWAYS in the queue. But what’s BEAUTIFUL about the queue is that it prepares you for when your number IS called! Because whether you’re waiting for your career to align, to find your partner, to scale your business, or to grow your family there’s no point in your number being called if you don’t quite know your order (AM I RIGHT)? Think about it- YOU don’t want to be THAT girl who doesn’t know what she wants to order and randomly chooses just to appease everyone else. NO you want to know EXACTLY what you’re ordering so you can place that order with confidence and enjoy your meal!
Apart from making you hungry (sorry LOL) my point is this:
The queue isn’t a bad place to be! GIRL, the queue is simply prepping you for the incredible reward (your GOAL or DREAM) you’ve worked so hard! Don’t be so hard on yourself! Instead refine, define, learn, and ENJOY every part of the queue!
