How we celebrate Galentine’s Day….

How we celebrate Galentine’s Day….

It’s February! And let’s be real…you likely either love or hate the “month of love”.

To be honest with you, over the years I’ve spent a lot of time digging deep into this one. Because as someone who struggles around the Christmas holiday season, I find it important to empathize with and support those who see holiday months as a challenge rather than a celebration. And through my “research” I’ve found one MAJOR commonality which leads me to ask…

Do those who dislike the month of love struggle to like themselves?

OKAY I know that sounds harsh, but before you stop reading PLEASE hear me out!

Think about it…a lot of people who dislike February struggle because of feeling incomplete or less than on Valentine’s Day. They battle feelings of loneliness and begin to believe the lie that they don’t measure up and are unworthy of love. And in return of feeling unloved, they fall of out love with themselves. And where love doesn’t live…hate does. But GIRL whether you love or hate February (and for whatever reason you love or hate it), I’m here to remind you:

YOU ARE COMPLETE.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
YOU DO MEASURE UP.
YOU ARE WORTHY.

YOU. ARE. LOVED.

And GIRL, YOU deserve to love YOU!

4 affordable holiday gift ideas for the EMPOWERHER on your shopping list!

GIRL, don’t be shocked (I’m well aware this is unpopular opinion), but if you’ve followed along with me for a holiday season or two, you likely know I’m not a huge holiday gal. But that doesn’t mean I don’t support YOUR holiday obsession! And though I refuse to buy into the heightened purchasing pressures that go hand-in-hand with the holidays, I do recognize it is a beautiful time to show appreciation to loved ones by gifting them something special.

But how often do you actually gift something special?

Because time, money, and lack of creative ideas frequently get in the way of REALLY showing your appreciation, I’ve curated a collection of EMPOWERING, meaningful gifts you’ll give excitedly this season (and they’re gifts that support small or female run businesses too)!

I’ve decided to go gray…

I’ve decided to go gray…

I vividly remember the moment I found my first gray hair…I had just turned 21, I was living and working in London, and I was DEVASTATED!

GIRL, I know it sounds extra BUT I am not exaggerating when I tell you I cried A LOT when I found that first gray hair. You see, I was TERRIFIED at the idea of getting “old” and for a LONG time, I had NO idea why.

But then I realized…

I’ve grown up in a society that praises “young” and fears old!

Turns out, our parents were simply doing their best…

It’s funny the things we realize as we get older….

Things like money doesn’t grow on trees, who you surround yourself with REALLY does matter, actions have consequences, and people really are doing the best with what they have.

Over the past week I prepared to vacation with my mom for the first time since middle school (yes you read that right), and in preparing I REALLY got to thinking about that last one…

People or (in this case) PARENTS are doing the best with what they have.
