Oh, Valentines Day.

Is it just me, or is it one of those holidays you either love or hate? And more often than not, your opinion of the day revolves around your relationship status, right?

(Now I’m not sure if as a married woman it’s “appropriate” to ask this but…) Why is it that we allow our relationship(s) with other people to impact the the way we love ourselves? What about YOU? What about the love you have for YOU? That MUST stand for something, right?

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has heard “before anyone can truly love you, you have to love you.” And though I’ve likely rolled my eyes after hearing this in the past, I wonder if a truer question has have ever been asked?

Think about it…

Whether you’re looking for a relationship or wanting to grow the one you’re in, you’re working toward a promotion or new job, or you’re simply trying to make new friends as an adult, it’s REALLY hard to convince anyone else that you’re worthy if YOU don’t recognize your worth FIRST.

But HOW do you recognize your worth and (most importantly) fall in love with YOU?

Just like growing that relationship or landing that new job, discovering your worth and REALLY loving YOU is a process. It doesn’t exactly happen overnight and can be an uphill climb. And unfortunately there’s no surefire, one-size-fits-all way to loving you. But GIRL I can tell you to just start! Start by doing something exclusively for YOU that reminds you how special and worthy you are of love.

Celebrating my love for ME means looking and feeling my best from the inside out. That means looking in the mirror and telling myself OUT LOUD how beautiful, smart, creative, and funny I am.
