And just like that, New York Fashion Week has come and gone (AGAIN!)
February is fashion month (I know, that happened fast right?) and I’m still on a high from last season! September’s NYFW was the VERY best yet, not only providing me the opportunity to attend a dozen INCREDIBLE shows, but it was a space to network with inspiring and empowering women in the industry, too!
And don’t worry, this season has lived up to the expectation AND MORE!
One of my FAVORITE things about NYFW…
One of my favorite things about NYFW is the street style! Whether it’s styling my own out-of-the-box take on the trends, or admiring what other fashion lovers have put together, the NYC sidewalks are truly a runway of their own at NYFW! Because I want my NYFW style to stand out but still be ME, I challenged myself to style a combination of both new pieces and items already hanging in my closet this season. Each look I put together is inspired by a particular piece or theme and I am SO pleased with every single one!
So wait no more, here is a quick roundup of every outfit I wore and show I attended during NYFW Fall/Winter2020.
What I wore to NYFW FW2020
Day 1
There is always ONE very rainy day during NYFW and day 1 was it! To stay warm yet chic while popping by the Ann Magnin Inc. Press Preview and Fix & Fax runway show, I opted for a head-to-toe black leather look on my first day of NYFW (y’all know I LOVE leather for winter!) Let’s just say my outfit felt EXTRA on point after seeing the Fix & Fax presentation!

Day 2
Day 2 of NYFW marked the first day my blogger bestie Claire and I attended shows together! We both find style inspiration in Chanel-like, vintage fashion and truly enjoyed putting together this look for the Concept Korea and Son Jung Wan runway shows! Not only were our coordinated looks uniquely us, but they also paired perfectly with the 50’s inspiration behind the Son Jung Wan collection.

Day 3
Every NYFW season, Saturday is PACKED with shows and events! I knew going into this season I wanted a Saturday style that was statement making but warm and comfortable too! My FAVORITE dress of the moment was the PERFECT piece to layer and accessorize for shooting street style looks and attending the Private Policy and Flying Solo runway presentations. I already can’t wait to wear this dress AGAIN!

Day 4
Day 4 of NYFW was a semi-relaxed Sunday featuring my Choosy trousers (you know, the ones I’m currently wearing on repeat) AND the ULTIMATE ready-to-wear collection by Romeo Hunte. This collection was by far my FAVORITE of the season and absolutely justified my thinking that two toned trousers, blazers, and bold colors being the HOTTEST trend!

Day 5
I’ll be honest, I woke up on Day 5 of NYFW exhausted and a bit uninspired. So rather than wearing the original look I had planned, I rummaged through my wardrobe and created this suit-like look by mixing a comfy pair of plaid trousers and a boyfriend blazer! This look REALLY excited me and gave me LIFE for the Just In XX, Frederick Anderson, and CAAFD presentations.

Day 6
To be honest, I was looking forward to this day the MOST during NYFW. Why? Well, Claire and I were invited to attend the Cynthia Rowley presentation (a fashionista’s dream come true) and we both were over the moon excited! However, our day looked a bit different than planned BUT in the BEST way possible! We rocked our royal blue looks to the Turkish Group and Christian Cowan runway shows, all while toasting with fashion legends in the E! News Style Lounge! Moments like this remind me how blessed I am to be following my dreams in this industry; you better believe I shed a few happy tears this day, too!

Day 7
The final day of NYFW is always bittersweet BUT was made EXTRA sweet this season when my husband joined me for a few shows! I don’t know about YOU but I truly enjoy sharing what I love most with those I love most! For the Fe Noel, Dirty Pineapple, and Seven Crash runway shows, I opted for this THRIFTED purple body con dress styled with some fierce accessories for a chic but sexy look!

Needless to say, this NYFW season was by far the best yet thanks to the incredible brands, photographers, and friends I am so blessed to be on this journey with! When you believe in YOU (and align yourself with those who believe in you too,) you can truly achieve anything you dream!
