& just like that…I’m another year older! (Fellow Sex & the City fans, PLEASE tell me you read that in Carrie’s voice!)
In true Sagittarian form, I LOVE my birthday and the celebrations that ensue! But funny enough, I once *DREADED* getting older and the aging that inevitably comes with it (regardless of how strict my skincare routine may be.) And much like you, I used to believe the lie that very specific boxes needed to be checked by a certain age in order for me to *really* be happy.
But GIRL that’s what’s so funny about growing up…
I don’t know about YOU but the older I get the less I care about the number and the more I focus on what happiness *really* looks like.
If you follow along with me on Instagram (shameless plug) you know I shared about the highs & lows of the past year and that my focus for year 28 was to SERVE. For me, serving looked and continues to look like giving to THIS community through connective events, one on one Confidence Coaching, social media resources, and much more outside of all things Ditch the Clique too. And much like it sounds…it’s A LOT and takes its toll (insert undereye bags here LOL!)
But GIRL, as MUCH AS i LOVE SKINCARE, I wouldn’t trade those undereye circles for the world!
WHY?
Because diligently serving YOU and finding ways to empower YOU to live your dream ultimately serves me too! I can say in full transparency that there is NOTHING more fulfilling, more life-giving, or more inspiring than playing a small roll in bringing YOUR dreams to life. And what an amazing reminder not only for me in the final year of my 20’s (WHAT???) but for YOU in pursuit of your dream life – serving your community ultimately serves you too 🙂
GIRL, as you look at the year ahead of you and all you have to face, remember all you’ve overcome. ALL that you’ve accomplished to get you here, in this stage of life you only once dreamed of. If you could get through THAT, I PROMISE you are capable of facing ALL that is ahead of you.
PLEASE don’t let fear, money, time, OR YOUR AGE stop you. There is room for you!
