Despite the crazy cold here in NYC (curse you polar vortex!) February is one of my favorite months of the year! Though it may be the shortest (and coldest) month, there is no shortage of excitement…HELLO New York Fashion Week AND Valentines Day!
But with so many great happenings, life comes at us fast! I mean, we’re already in the second month of 2019!
Spend Time With Those You Love
And because time so quickly comes and goes, it’s important to make the most of it by spending it with the right people! Between Galentines Day on February 13th (thank you Leslie Knope) and Valentines Day on the 14th, February is the perfect time to celebrate the greatest loves of life. I know I am beyond excited to celebrate my Galentines Day with the Exclusively Social #girlgang and enjoy a Valentines Day date night with my fiance! How are you celebrating Galentine’s Day and Valentines Day? A brunch with your gals? Or a movie with your love? No matter how you spend time, spend it right!
Spend Time On You
I LOVE spending time with the ones I love, and you know what they all have in common? They all remind me to spend time on myself once in awhile. As I confessed in my self care blog post, it can be hard to find time to truly relax and focus on personal goals, especially after the first month of the year. I’ve discovered the importance of taking a step back to reflect and re-evaluate my goals to keep myself on track. This is why I’m obsessed with the new hashtag storming Instagram…#selflovefebruary. To feel refreshed and ready to achieve goals, self love and me time is beyond important! Relationship or not, February’s celebration of self love also serves as the perfect reminder that THIS is the opportune time to reset and truly love YOU!
Loving you means spending TIME on you. Do you remember one of my primary 2019 goals to be more timely? Let me tell you that I’m making moves team…I’ve started arriving early AND wearing a watch!! And in the spirit of time…let me tell you I’ve been doing FAR better with my self love journey, too. Sure I’m obsessed with self care/skin care, but self love is more than just outward care. To inwardly enjoy me time, I’ve challenged myself to shut down from fashion week outfit planning and instead read new books and listen to new podcasts. It’s okay if reading or podcasting isn’t for you but I challenge you to not only pamper your skin but your mind, too!
Ah the relationship between a healthy mind, soul and body! I’m trying my best to be on track with my workouts. But let me tell y’all, after romping around the city in single digit temperatures, working out is the last thing I want to do. But NO MORE EXCUSES in February! In this self celebratory month, I am challenging myself and all of you to celebrate the love you have for yourself by doing the things you love and the things your body loves for you! Choose goals that serve a purpose for you and help you love yourself even more!
