NYFW SS20 OUTFIT Recap

EVERY outfit I wore and show I attended this season!

At the close of every New York Fashion Week season I am continually overwhelmed with emotions! I am so grateful to be a part of such a creative and inspirational industry and am even more thankful for THIS community created by each of you!

As mentioned in How to Dress for Fashion Week, one of my FAVORITE parts of each season is outfit planning for the shows! This season, I attended 12 runway shows and 3 events over 6 days. Each day I wore a different look inspired by my favorite designers, my style mood board, and city street style trends I am lucky enough to see daily! Every look is SO different yet SO me!

Each season, I make it my mission to incorporate both new and recycled items into my NYFW wardrobe to remind you that a capsule wardrobe you love is interchangeable and KEY! So as you continue reading, notice I have included a breakdown of items I purchased for fashion week vs. items I already own and included into my NYFW looks.

Day 1– Icy Dynasty Runway Show

I have always loved slip dresses but shied away from them for TOO long, believing the lie that my body is not the right shape or height to wear one. WAS I EVER WRONG! It turns out this bold color dress and blazer combo, inspired by my mood board COVERED in pinks and reds, is a flattering shape for my body and something I will wear over and over again.

Day 2— Dirty Pineapple, Mark Gong, and EDGII Runway Show

I am ALL about mixing and matching items in my wardrobe! So when I had NO idea what to wear for Day 2 of NYFW, I decided to shop my closet! This lavender dress from Urban Outfitters had hung in my closet with tags on it for MONTHS so I figured what better time to wear it! Though this dress is gorgeous alone, I wanted a more casual look for daytime shows. I paired it with an oversized blazer and boots for an effortlessly edgy vibe.

P.s. I picked these sunnies up at a street stand for $5!

If you read How to Dress for Fashion Week, you know that my NYFW outfits are not only mood board inspired but also designer inspired! Knowing I Love Pretty would be a girly grunge collection, I channeled my best 90s Avril Lavigne for Day 3 of fashion week. Because plaid and pattern mixing are ALWAYS in, I figured what better way to effortlessly stand out AND welcome fall than to ROCK this look?!

Though I work to incorporate items I already own into my NYFW wardrobe each season, I (of course) enjoy discovering NEW items, too! While visiting Greece I saw this suit and IMMEDIATELY fell in love! I love both jewel tones AND suiting so I knew it would not only make for a fantastic NYFW outfit, but also be an excellent addition to my staple wardrobe!

P.s. I was FREAKING out over what shirt to pair with this for fashion week until my blogger bestie suggested NO shirt! I have always wanted to pull of a look like this and finally just did it (and felt amazing too)!!!
